About this Course:
The Diploma of Information Technology (IT) is designed for individuals seeking to excel in a variety of ICT roles with a focus on technical expertise. This qualification provides you with the specialised skills needed to handle moderately complex tasks in a specialist ICT field. Throughout the course, you will develop the ability to work independently, collaborate as part of a team, or take on a leadership role, managing deliverables and working with others. You will acquire skills applicable across diverse industries and business functions, or even as a business owner. This qualification offers a solid foundation for advancing your ICT career or starting your own ICT business.What You'll Learn:
Minimum age of 17 years or turning 17 years old prior to commencement of the course
Year 11 Australian Senior High School Certificate, or equivalent (e.g. completion of Year 12 or High School in the students home country) with full academic results.
Upper-Intermediate English (equivalent to 5.5 academic or general IELTS) or successful completion of college LLN Test
Photo ID and evidence of citizenship (international students must provide copy of passport)
Students on this course require computer access for learning purposes and to complete course assessments. As such, learners must have beginner/intermediate computing skills including use of Microsoft Office programmes, in addition to hardware requirements of a desktop or portable computer with keyboard, pointing device, speaker, web camera and microphone, and a broadband internet connection.
Specific Updates to English Language Requirements for Student VisasGeneral Student Visa: The minimum IELTS score has increased from 5.5 to 6 (or equivalent).Packaged ELICOS: The minimum IELTS score to undertake a packaged English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) program has increased from 4.5 to 5.0.
Students who are unable to meet the academic or English language criteria may in some cases be eligble to undertake our Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) test. Criteria may change at any time without notice. Additional English language requirements may apply to international applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds wishing to articulate on a visa package into a university programme. Students must be able to (and are required to) enrol, participate, demonstrate progression-of, and complete this course.

Usually, the 1st stage is trying to get them to familiarise themselves by learning basic theory and simulation strategies to get them familiar with the subject. This will include:

3rd stage is using a theory from university where we call this the ‘House kitchen practices’. Based on research, universities find students progressed more with the lecturer when the lecturer spends small amount of time with the student’s teaching theory. They then emphasis rather on what the student prefers to learn on the subject, assessment or case studies. This allows the student to focus more and it shows them their progress towards achieving results.
